At Connect Bareilly Zone – Influencers Meetup 2026, ASP Sonali Mishra, IPS (Bareilly) delivered a session that went straight to the heart of the matter — how every creator can become a powerful voice for women’s safety, dignity and respect through their content.
A 2023-batch IPS officer from Prayagraj, ASP Sonali Mishra holds a background in Civil Engineering. Known for her compassionate and community-focused approach, she spoke with clarity and conviction about how Mission Shakti is not just a scheme but a movement built on three pillars — Nari Suraksha (Women’s Safety), Nari Samman (Women’s Honour and Dignity), and Nari Swavalamban (Women’s Self-Reliance and Empowerment).
This session was part of the broader vision of ADG Bareilly Zone Ramit Sharma to partner with digital creators for meaningful social change.
Speaking to over 100 influencers from nine districts, ASP Sonali Mishra presented a detailed and inspiring picture of Mission Shakti’s on-ground impact — from Mission Shakti Kendras inside police stations offering one-stop support, to Anti-Romeo Squads, Pink Booths, women beat systems, Vatsalya Kendras (childcare support), and Parivar Paramarsh Kendras (family counselling centres). She also highlighted the critical role of the 1090 helpline in providing immediate and confidential assistance to women.
Most importantly, she sensitised the creators about their powerful role in society. She emphasised that creators should make respect for women a consistent and conscious message in their content — whether through direct awareness videos, subtle storytelling, or everyday narratives that promote dignity and equality.
Speaking to NDD, Ankit Sharma, a social media influencer from Sambhal, said, "This was a very helpful and insightful session. We learned about the various schemes run by the UP government for women’s empowerment, dignity and safety. We also learned about the Mission Shakti Kendras — a significant new addition to the programme that is already making a real difference on the ground. Most importantly, we understood how our content can help our followers become aware of these schemes, the important work being done by UP Police, and inspire everyone to treat women with respect."
