The special awareness session between the Social Media Influencers of Bareilly Zone and Additional Director General of Police (ADG) Bareilly Zone, scheduled for January 18, 2026, has been indefinitely postponed due to the prevailing extreme cold wave and dense fog in the region.
The meeting was to focus on laws governing digital content creation and the functioning of the Digital Volunteers programme. It had been organised following a formal request by the community, which was directly inspired by the landmark Digital Volunteers meeting held on December 24, 2025, at Bareilly Police Lines.
The Influencers Community of Bareilly Zone — a self-organised group of more than 100 active social media influencers from all nine districts of the zone — had approached ADG Sharma seeking clarity on legal responsibilities and an opportunity to explore joining the Digital Volunteers initiative.
According to police sources, the severe weather conditions, including dense to very dense fog and sharp drop in minimum temperatures, have made it impractical to hold a large multi-district gathering at Bareilly Police Lines. Several districts in western Uttar Pradesh, including Bareilly, are currently under cold wave and dense fog warnings.
A fresh date for the session will be announced once weather conditions improve. Both the police administration and the Influencers Community have expressed commitment to holding the important awareness programme at the earliest possible opportunity.
